Today...

I really need to be getting on with some work... However! I went into town today with James to wonder about charity shops and the like and buy stuff! I ended up getting two vinyls for the record player that James should be getting tomorrow (hopefully).

First up was Harry Belafonte from Oxfam! It was £5.99... Totally worth it!! It reminds me of the film Beetlejuice with Wynona Ryder (i love her so much she is the coolest).

Then is was Herbie Hancock who I found in the Record shop in town. This own however was £19.99, but this one I was pleased to part money with. My favorite song is Watermelon Man.

And this is all that happened today... Oh that and....

I got my Madoka Kaname wig of course!
(I'll be sure to make cute pictures as some point...)

Right at this moment I'm trying to learn hiragana. I'm trying to read outloud a story called "Momotarou" (The Peach Boy). It's quite difficult and I forget things easily, oh well!

KIY (Kawaii It Yourself)

Because I've been bored during the summer holidays I've been making lots of random stuff myself like the collars and things (if you haven't noticed). I got bored of saying "DIY" which to me sounds very manly and would involve some form of wood. I, personally, do not work with wood to make kawaii peter pan collars, key charms and small cute things. So I've decided to called it KIY. Doesn't really have the same ring to it... But I'm sure I can deal with it. Here are some more things I've made recently...

Made some cute cat ear in some hair clips
(No website, it was pretty easy to do myself, very finickity though)

Made a tiny Totoro from a template but halved the size
(also very finickity, but not as much)

And finally, I made a full size template Totoro!

Hope you like my cute creations! I'm happy with them.

More DIY...

As I said in one of my last posts, I attempted to make a felt peter pan collar following this tutorial. It turned out pretty well! The tutorial is really easy to follow so it wasn't difficult at all!

(Purikura!)

I also had a go at making a fox tail charm as they seem to be getting pretty popular and personally I find them really cute! I really couldn't be bothered to spend money on one so I just bought fabric and made one myself. Didn't need to follow a tutorial this time... It was one of the easiest things I've ever made.

(Purikura!... Again!)

Japanese Maid Cafe Love Love Onee-chan Day!

Today was the day I took my beautiful Onee-chan on her birthday present extravaganza! We arrived in London at around 11am and as our booking for the Maid Cafe wasn't until 1pm we decided to go to the V&A because we'd heard about a Lolita exhibit there. I got a bit lost, but the show was in the Japan area of the V&A (of course it was, how silly of me!) and although they only displayed a small amount of outfits, it was enough for us!

As Onee-chan studies archeology we went to the Medieval & Renaissance area as well where we saw lots of really cool stuff!

Japanese Maid Café London

We were both very excited (and I was very nervous) and going to this Maid Cafe because the place where it was held was some run down greek restaurant and it looked a bit dodgy... But sure enough, after some exploration, the maids were downstairs setting up the place and all speaking japanese and we started to have a massive spazz of excitement where I couldn't control my body movements. They were all so cute in their little maid outfits! My favourite waitresses were Rico and Mai, because they were the cutest. Rico played the keyboard and she took requests from the customers whilst Mai was the leader and lead the para para dancing and dressed in a cute fairy dress! They were all so cute! Here are some secret pictures when we were there (because we weren't allowed to take pictures T_T )...

(We got our hands stamped)

(We sat at the 'Death Note' table!)

(Me being weird and a vampire with snacks >.<)

(What the maid did to Onee-chan's food with ketchup! Kawaiiii!)

(The cute maids and their outfits! Secret pictures...)

All in all it was an extremely lovely day with Onee-chan! I hope she had a lovely time as she was very happy on the train back home, but we were both very sad we couldn't spend any more time with the lovely maid waitresses.

Purikura...

Spending love love Onee-chan time has made me re-realise my love for cute, kawaii and japanese things. So we both downloaded Purikura apps on our phone and had lots and lots of fun. Here are the outcomes of our endeavours...

(This one was done on Onee-chan's iPhone with the "Charuca Purikura" app)

This one and the rest were done with SBY (Super Brilliant Yabai) Camera which we realised was the better app and so we kept using it! o(>.<)o
